Adult Learners Cook Up A Storm
19 July 2012
Salford City College Adult Learners recently participated in a community bake-off as part of a series of vocational taster course sessions.
Three teams competed to produce afternoon tea on a dressed table, on an appropriate theme of their choice, and to a strict budget. The students were able to plan for the event over several weeks and so competition was fierce. Cookery books were presented as prizes alongside certificates.
Nicky Vincer, Head of Community Studies, said; “Everyone had a wonderful time competing in the community bake-off; it was a lovely way to round off our most recent batch of vocational taster courses. All of the teams produced wonderful afternoon teas which made judging extremely difficult.
“We hope the students have enjoyed the vocational taster courses we have offered and that they are now inspired to enrol on to a full qualification come September.”
