The Salford Reds/Pendleton Sixth Form Centre Partnership

Salford City Reds and Pendleton Sixth Form Centre have a history of a great partnership dating back more than eight years. The partnership first began with young Reds players being offered a chance to further their education at Pendleton and has developed over the years to include Reds’ players using Pendleton’s pool for rehab, performing arts students appearing at the Willows and the college hosting rugby league coaching courses. Over the last two years the Reds and the College have developed the Rugby League Academy, which sees students from across the North West come to Pendleton to study whilst having the opportunity to develop their rugby league skills. Salford City Reds’ community operation – the Salford City Reds Foundation is even based at Pendleton Sixth Form Centre, providing it with a good link to the heart of the local community. Recent announcements of joint ventures at the Reds proposed new stadium at Barton have further cemented the relationship as we look to move things forward from 2009 onwards.
